PETG 3D Printing in Tbilisi
PETG is the workhorse of functional 3D printing: noticeably stronger than PLA, stable up to 70°C, unafraid of water and sun. It is the same family of plastic used for beverage bottles — tough, springy and durable.
If your part has to hold, mount or live outdoors, start with PETG. It is the best price-to-strength balance for most practical jobs.

PETG properties — when to choose it
- Strong and tough: under load it flexes and returns instead of cracking like PLA.
- Heat resistance up to ~70°C: survives a sunny balcony and warm mechanisms.
- Moisture- and UV-resistant: fit for outdoors, bathrooms, planters and exterior mounts.
- Good layer adhesion: parts are strong across the layers, not just along them.
- At 0.12 ₾/g it is only 20% more than PLA for far greater durability.
What PETG can’t handle
- Tiny sharp details: PETG tends to string, so miniature features come out slightly less crisp than in PLA.
- Scratches: the surface is softer than PLA — gloss dulls over time.
- Heat above 75°C: for under-hood car parts or anything near heaters you need ABS.
PETG or ABS — which to choose?
If the part heats above 70°C or must survive hard impacts — take ABS. In every other working scenario PETG is more practical: it doesn’t shrink, so large parts come out more dimensionally accurate. For outdoors PETG is the clear winner: ABS yellows and ages in the sun, PETG shrugs off UV.
Compared to PLA: PETG wins wherever there is load, water or sun, but loses on fine detail and color choice. For combined pieces we can print the body in PETG and the decorative elements in PLA.
