Halloween is getting bigger in Georgia every year: cafés dress their windows and schools throw parties, yet shops still carry very little ready-made decor. Here are ideas you can make yourself or order printed in Tbilisi, plus the dates to order by if you want everything in place for 31 October.
Pumpkins: the main symbol, no knife needed
A real pumpkin has to be carved the day before and wilts three days later. A decorative one lasts for years. The most versatile option is a minimalist textured pumpkin in white, beige or terracotta: it works for Halloween and for autumn in general. For the sweets table there is a pumpkin candy bowl with a lid, and for a shelf a set of outline pumpkin silhouettes in three sizes.
Ghosts, skeletons and a black cat
- Ghosts in sneakers and a hoodie: funny rather than scary, and they stay on the shelf all year.
- A sitting skeleton lady with a bow and three skulls “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”: for those who like gothic without supermarket plastic.
- A black cat with bristling fur: a classic that looks best next to a pumpkin.
- An office skeleton with a mug of coffee: a gift for a colleague, sits on the edge of a monitor.
For the door, the window and the counter
A layered Happy Halloween sign 25 cm long stands on its own and suits a bar counter or a shop window. A wreath sign with a ghost in a witch hat hangs on the door. Both are printed in two or three plastic colors with no paint, so they will not peel and will last more than one season.
Large pieces: the centre of the table
If you need one object to build the whole display around, look at the big figures: a 22 cm pumpkin ghost that takes an LED candle inside, or a scene with a mummy, pumpkins and a fence on a 22 cm base. They take 15–20 hours to print, so order them early.
Do it yourself: a paint kit
A good plan for an evening with kids: the pumpkin diorama with a graveyard inside is printed in white and comes with acrylic paints and brushes. Painting takes an hour to an hour and a half and the result stays as decor. The same works for any figure: order it in white and paint it yourself.
